I haven't been on my computer in 3 days!! Can you believe it? What kind of a person living in the 21st century doesn't turn on their computer for 3 days? A person who's been INSANELY busy!
First off, I'd like to state a couple of things that happened around here during the last little while. One Saturday morning, I woke up and heard something weird coming from the laundry room. I opened the door and to my surprise, there was a bird flying around in there - A BIRD! How the heck did it get in there? I have no idea, but Husband spent a good 20 minutes trying to catch it - unsuccessfully. It's not his fault, though. Our ceiling in that room is not finished, so the bird kept flying into the ceiling and walking around on the pipes. Husband soon gave up, so I went downstairs, opened the window and the bird flew out. LOL
Beauty has finally become completely comfortable at her preschool, so much in fact, that the teachers now have to allow her to help them with everything. One time, it was time for the kids to put their toys away so they could sit at the table for snack time. Usually, Beauty goes right over and sits down, but this particular day she just refused. One teacher came over to her and Beauty grabbed her hand and dragged her over to where they were playing with toys. Turns out, some children did not put all their toys away, so of course, Beauty could not sit at the table to eat until those toys were put back in their place. See? She's "helping" the teachers.
Macho, just a couple of weeks ago, finally started walking! It's so great, he walks around like Frankenstein's monster with his arms straight out! I'm just glad he's walking. Many of you know just what a long road it was to get him to this point. We had to enroll him for regular visits with an Occupational Therapist when he was 8 months old because he still wasn't sitting up on his own. He gradually learned to support his weight so he wouldn't fall over, he started sitting up on his own, he learned how to climb stairs, he learned how to cruise around furniture, he learned to stand and now he's walking. He's 14 months old, so I was really starting to worry, but he's finally there. Yay!
The biggest milestone that both children seemed to reach at the same time: They are officially no longer allergic to milk. Whoo-hoo! Beauty was on a very expensive formula called Nutramigen for 2 years and then we transitioned her to soymilk. Although soymilk is less expensive than the formula, it's still more expensive than regular milk, so I'm so happy that she can handle regular milk now. Macho has been on Nutramigen since he was 4 days old. It was clear right from the start that he had an allergy to milk. We also didn't know until later (and after many tests) that he had a slow-moving digestive system. That meant he couldn't digest anything normally, he was always spitting up (and I mean ALWAYS!), he couldn't eat anything (including baby food) and I also had to give him a suppository at least once a day. I'm happy to report that Macho is now allergy free and he has FINALLY grown out of the digestive problem. All is right with the world! =)
To bore you further, I will now give you a breakdown of what my day was like yesterday (it was just so crazy!). I went to a doctor's appointment (drove through a snowstorm), came back and got Husband, kids and Husband's lunch for the week in the car, drove Husband to work, came back, fed Beauty, got the kids back in the car, took Beauty to preschool, got gas, realized Husband's lunch was still in the car, went back to Husband's work to bring him his food, came back home and put Macho to bed, got him out 1/2 hour later 'cause he was overtired and wouldn't sleep, fed Macho, got him in the car and picked up Beauty, went back home, entertained kids for an hour, got back in the car again and picked Husband up from work, came back home, fed children, put Macho to bed at 6:30 pm (normal bed time), ate dinner and finally sat down. Tired yet?! We put Beauty to bed at 8:30 pm, I watched a little tv, went to bed at 10:30 pm and then proceeded to wake up 7 times during the night because both children were having issues. Can you imagine how tired I was today? Yeah, I was exhausted.
To end this post, I will state what I'm grateful for. I'm grateful for a husband who provides for us so I can stay home with the kids. I'm grateful for my kids (most of the time). I'm grateful that the kids are doing better health-wise. I'm grateful to my husband for always being willing to rub my feet. And you know what I'm really grateful for? Spring Recess! Beauty doesn't have school again until the 14th, so Husband can drive himself to and from work! Whoo-hoo!!!
